Two Deaths in Amish Church Dist. in Iowa

Kalona, Iowa. — Two members of the Northeast District of the Amish church near here were called away in death during the first week of the New Year.

Harry D. Miller, 84, died Jan. 4 after being confined to the home for 11 years due to a heart condition. Survivors include his wife, Lizzie, with whom he had lived in marriage for 58 years, two sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Albert Schlabach, 55, father of 12 children, died Jan. 7 at University Hospital in Iowa City where he had been a patient for two weeks with a heart ailment. He leaves his wife, the former Katie M. Yoder, and 12 children, all of them at home. He was a son of the late Bishop Simon Schlabach of Holmes County, Ohio.
