Long-Time Store Operator At Fentress, Va. Dies

Fentress, Va. — Funeral services were conducted at the Hollowman-Grown [? Hollomon-Brown?] Funeral Home Dec. 4 for Dwight L. Miller, 74, operator of a general merchandise store here for many years. He died Dec. 2 while working at his home in Fentress.

Mr. Miller had closed his store recently, to devote his time to other interests. He was much interested in forestry and had been cited recently as one of the largest successful tree farmers in this area.

He enjoyed traveling and had been to Europe and Palestine, to Alaska and many of the national parks in the United States and Canada. He studied botany and plant life in the parks visited. He received his education at Goshen College in Indiana and willed to the college his personal library and biographical papers concerning the Miller family, on which he had done considerable work.

Born near Garden City, Mo. on Nov., 8, 1887, the son of Elias R. and Elizabeth Hartfzler Miller, he is survived by his wife Virginia; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Morris of Richmond, Va.; one sister and three brothers.
