David L. Miller

David L. Miller was born to Levi and Catherine Stutzman Miller, in Holmes County, Ohio, February 9, 1845 and departed this life in Noble, Iowa, Friday, may 25, 1928 at the ripe age of 83 years, 3 months and 16 days.

When a child his parents moved to Johnson County, Iowa, where they resided a few years near Iowa City. From there the family moved to Washington County, Iowa and settled in the Eureka community. There again the family resided for just a few years and then moved into the community of Noble, Iowa where Mr. Miller lived the remaining years of his life.

He is preceeded [sic] in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by one nephew, Milo Horner of Smithville, Ohio, four nieces, Miss Emma Zook of Smithville, Ohio, Mrs. Eva Horner and Miss Minnie Horner of Lapez, Indiana and Mrs. Carrie (Miller) Womelsdorf of Washington, Iowa.

Mr. Miller, "Uncle Davie" always enjoyed good health until about the last ten days when he was not quite as well. However, he was seriously ill less than two days and his sudden departure was quite a shock to this community.

Funeral services were held in the Emmanuel Mennonite church on Monday, May 28 at 2 P. M. in charge of his pastor, H. J. Schrag. The church was filled with friends who knew him and had come to pay their last tribute of respect. — Wayland News.
