RETIRED MINISTER & FARMER OF WELLMAN, IOWA PASSED AWAY

Wellman, Iowa. — Funeral services for David D. Miller, 85 [sic 91?], retired minister and farmer who spent his entire life in the Wellman-Kalona community, were held at the Lower Deer Creek church July 30, with Elmer Swartzendruber and Joe L. Hershberger officiating. He passed away at his home in Wellman July 26 after a long illness.

He was born here Nov. 8, 1866, a son of David J. and Marie Gingerich Miller. On Dec. 1, 1892 he was married to Naomi Miller, who survives him. He was ordained to the ministry in 1917 and served the Lower Deer Creek church.

Besides the widow, he leaves five daughters, three sons,23 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Jake Miller of Maxwell.
