HOLIDAY TRAGEDY MARS VISIT OF OHIO FAMILY WITH FRIENDS IN PENNSYLVANIA

Belleville, Pa. — On last Wednesday forenoon, Dec. 27, Joseph M. Miller and family of Hartville, Ohio, met with a serious accident while returning from a happy Christmas with his brother Andrew M. Miller and family who reside in the Kishacoquillas Valley about midway between Belleville and Reedsville. The accident occurred on Route 22 between Hollidaysburg and Duncansville at New Portage junction. A three-months-old baby was killed, and the other occupants of the automobile were injured.

The family consisted of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Miller and their seven children, Elsie, 10; Atlee, 9; Joseph, 7; Daniel, 6; Melvin, 4, and Ben, 2, and Betty, the youngest member of the family who died en route to the Mercy hospital in Altoona, of a fractured skull.

The Millers, of Amish faith, were en route to their home. Upon being informed of the tragic accident, the brother, Andrew, went immediately to Altoona to assist with arrangements for the burial of the baby.

The Miller car was operated by John Robenstine, aged 24, also of Hartville, Ohio. It was snowing at the time of the accident. — Belleville Times.
