Heart Attack Claims Life of Well-Known Pennsylvania Pastor

Souderton, Pa. #8212&; Funeral services for Rev. Claude B. Meyers, 76, of Hatfield were held April 19 at the Line Lexington Mennonite Church where he ha served as pastor for more than 40 years.

Rev. Meyers died April 15 shortly after being admitted to Grand View Hospital, Sellersville. Death was believed due to a heart attack.

A lifetime resident of this area, Pastor Meyers was ordained at the Line Lexington Church in 1933. For the past several years he had been associate pastor of the church. He established the first summer Bible school at that church and also pioneered in Bible school work in Vermont. He was instrumental in establishing the Franconia Mennonite School, now the Penn View Christian School, Souderton.

Rev. Meyers was active in the Franconia Conference, and during World War II was a visiting pastor to CPS camps.

Survivors include three sons and four daughters and their families, as well as three brothers and two sisters.
