LARGE FUNERAL FOR VICTIM OF FAMILY TRAGEDY AT REEDLEY

Reedley, Calif., March 21. — The funeral of Mrs. Louise Mauser, wife of Charles Mauser, who was shot by her husband Sunday night, was held this afternoon at the First Mennonite Church, Revs. Krehbiel and Regier officiating. Mrs. Mauser was 54 years of age and was born in Germany. She had resided in Reedley for the past eleven years, coming here from the middle west, where she had resided for many years previous to locating here.

She is survived by the husband, who is in a Fresno hospital suffering from self-inflicted gunshot wounds. The surviving children are: Roy Mauser, of Kansas; Mrs. Esther Walsh, of Kansas; Fred Mauser, of Iowa; Curt Mauser, of Los Angeles, Robert Mauser, of Berkeley; and Harold Mauser, a student of the Reedley high school. Four sisters and four grandchildren also survive.

Out of respect to Harold, who is a member of the junior class of the high school, those wishing to attend the funeral, were dismissed from classes this afternoon.

the church was filled to overflowing, as Mrs. Mauser stood high in the community. Burial was in Reedley cemetery.

Word from the hospital is to the effect that Mauser will likely recover, although he may never recover his eyesight, as one of the bullets svered the optic nerve.

The family has the sympathy of the entire community in their hour of trouble. — Reedley Exponent.
