HUEY LONG GOES THE WAY OF A DICTATOR

U. S. Senator Huey Long, commonly known as the dictator of Louisiana, was mortally wounded in the Louisiana state house Sunday evening, Sept. 8, by Dr. Weiss, a resident of Baton Rouge. The doctor was immediately killed by the senator's bodyguard, but Long also succumbed to his wounds several days later. thousands of his followers attended his funeral on Wednesday, Sept. 11. He was a unique, dramatic figure in American politics. A newspaper man once said to him, "If this county should ever have a dictator, you might easily be the man." but being a dictator apparently is extremely dangerous.
