HENRY LOEWEN

Henry Loewen of Saskatoon passed away Jan. 20. He was born Mar. 3, 1919 in Russia. In 1926 the family immigrated to Foxwarren, Man. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Glenbush, Sask., where he found himself in charge of the family farm at an early age. In 1940 he married Katherine Dyck. They were baptized early in their marriage. His devotion to God was evident in his gentle, quiet manner as he modelled Christianity to his family. He is remembered as a man who took time to play with his children. He loved sports and enjoyed the beauty of God's creation. In 1966 the family moved to Saskatoon, where he found employment. Shortly after retirement, in 1986, cancer was diagnosed. He is mourned by his wife; daughters Shirley and Diana Hamm; sons Wilmer and Robert; 7 grandchildren; 1 sister and 2 brothers. The funeral was Jan. 23 in West Portal MB Church, Saskatoon, with Dwayne Barkman ministering.
