ABRAM DAVID LOEWEN

Abram David Loewen of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away Jan. 10. He was born Apr. 5, 1914 to David P. and Tina Loewen in Rosenbach, Russia. In 1928 they immigrated to Canada. After 2 years in Hepburn, Sask., they moved to a homestead in Fairfield, Sask., where a home and church were built. He experienced the love of Christ in his early years in Russia and was saved. In 1938 he was baptized by Jacob Enns and joined Speedwell (Sask.) MB Church. After 13 years in Saskatchewan, the family moved to Yarrow, B.C. Later he bought a farm in Arnold, B.C. On Apr. 4, 1948 he married Mary Unger of Flowingwell, Sask. Together they built up their farm. They adopted their children John and Lois, and also fostered Lisa and Donna for a short time. Mary died Apr. 14, 1980. He remained in Arnold until 1985. He married Susan Thiessen in April, 1985. They lived in Clearbrook. He was an active member of Arnold MB Church until his passing, ministering in MCC, Sunday school and janitorial work. He enjoyed retirement, playing golf, bowling and going on bus tours. Predeceased by his first wife Mary and 3 sisters, he is mourned by his second wife Susan; son John; daughter Lois Voth; 5 grandchildren; 1 brother and 5 sisters. The funeral was Jan. 14, with Irvin Penner, John Balzer and Harry Loewen ministering.
