IDA CATHARINE DRIVER LINGLE

Ida Catharine Driver Lingle was born June 9, 1865 near Geneso [sic Geneseo], Illinois, daughter of Daniel F. and Sallie Branner Driver. She departed this life at ten o’clock Sunday morning, April 26, 1953, at her home nine miles northeast of Versailles, Mo. at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 17 days. In early childhood she came with her parents to Missouri where she has spent the greater part of her life. On May 22, 1902, she was united in marriage to W. M. Lingle who survives her. They lived together over 50 years. She was a kind and devoted wife. She is survived by three brothers, Joe C. Driver of La Junta, Colorado, C. B. Driver of near Versailles, D. Arthur Driver of Howe, Indiana; two sisters, Maggie Driver and Fannie Dettwiler of near Versailles, and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Frank, Lewis, John and Jacob Driver, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Shank. In 1914 they took into their home an infant niece, Clara Mae Lingle, who passed away at the age of three years. In young womanhood she confessed Christ as her personal Saviour and united with the Mennonite Church and was a faithful member at the time of her death. Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion church, April 28, at 2:30 p. m. Interment was at the Mt. Zion cemetery, with J. R. Shank officiating, assisted by P. P. Hilty. Those from a distance who attended the services were Mr. and Roy Driver of Quenemo, Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lingle of Marshall, Missouri, Miss Lydia of Edwards, Missouri, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Byler and Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Byler of Sedalia, Missouri.
