Minister Stricken While Preaching

STROKE PROVES FATAL TO H. H. LICHTY OF LANCASTER CONFERENCE

Lancaster, Pa. — A stroke of paralysis suffered while preaching the morning sermon at the Martindale Mennonite Church June 23 proved fatal to Harry H. Lichty, 66, of East Earl. He died late that night at a hospital.

Bro. Lichty was ordained to the ministry in the Weaverland District of the Lancaster Conference in December 1945. He served in the ministry in Alabama for two and a half years, and was a member of the Itinerant Evangelism Committee of the conference for six years.

Prior to his ordination he served as Sunday school superintendent of the large Weaverland congregation for 25 years.

Surviving are his wife, the former Cora Hershey, and four sisters. Funeral services were held at the Weaverland church.
