MRS. H. W. LEPPKE

Our loving and kind wife and mother, Elizabeth Franz Leppke, was born Feb. 5, 1888 to Gerhard and Anna Janzen Franz at Inman, Kansas. After her parents passed away, her brother, J. A. Franz came to live with them at the home place. In the summer of 1915 she came to live with her brother, P. J. Franz, at Corn, Okla. On Nov. 14, 1951 [sic 1915] she entered holy matrimony with H. W. Leppke and they moved to the farm a few miles south of Corn where they lived till December of 1952, when they moved to town.

Already earlier in life mother realized her lost condition and accepted Christ as Savior. On April 1,1907 she was baptized by Henry Adrian and received into the Ebenezer Mennonite Brethren Church near Buhler, Kan. Ahortly after she came to Corn she joined the Corn M. B. Church. Here she remained a faithful member until the end.

In 1920 mother was seriously ill but recovered. She enjoyed good health most of her life. About a year ago she began to fall. The last three months of her life she was bedridden. She was easy to care for as she was quiet and good natured.

In her life she had trials, sickness and storm, but at the end she had quietness and rest. She fell asleep and peacefully went to her heavenly reward. She reachyears, 11 months and 16 days; of these, 46 years she spent with her husband.

Mother was preceded in death by one son, Leonard; five brothers, J. J. Franz, George Franz, Henry Franz, Cornelius Franz, and J. A. Franz; and two sisters, Anna, Mrs. Abe Reimer, and Suzanna.

She leaves to mourn, her husband; one son, John, one daughter-in-law; three grandchildren; three brothers, P. J. Franz of Hillsboro, Kansas, D. J. Franz of Buhler, Kansas, L. J. Franz of Hillsboro, Kansas; two sisters, Helen, Mrs. George A. Goosen [sic Goossen], and Mary, Mrs. Isaac Bergman [sic Bergmann]; six sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a host of relatives and friends.

We mourn for mother but not as those without hope, for we know that she has gone on to her heavenly reward and that we will see her again. — The Bereaved Family.
