HERMANN H. LENZMANN

Hermann Lenzmann was born February 6, 1881 at Gnadenfeld, South Russia, the son of Hermann and Helene (Franz) Lenzmann. His parents moved to Halbstadt shortly thereafter where he spent his youth and where in 1900 he was received into the Mennonite church after baptism. In 1907 he was joined in matrimony to Emma Schroeder with whom he had seven children, three of whom predeceased him in infancy. In 1922 she was taken from his side by death and shortly thereafter he made his peace with God. He remarried to the widow, Maria Heinrichs, with whom he had another three children of which one died as a child. In addition four of her children by her previous marriage entered the family. In the year 1924 the family moved to Canada finally settling on a farm at Herschel, Sask. During this time he was baptized upon his confession of faith and accepted into the Mennonite Brethren church at Watrous, Sask. In 1946 the family moved to Abbotsford where his wife died in the same year. At that time he moved onto the farm to live with his son Wilhelm. He entered the hospital late last fall and went to be with the Lord on February 27, 1965. He had reached an age of 84 years. He is survived by six sons and four daughters, 42 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. The funeral was in the Clearbrook ME Church with H. J. Thielman and Johann Unger ministering.
