Well-Known Berne Business Man Dies In Fall from Ladder

Berne, Ind. Ind. [sic] — David D. Lehman, 64, well-known Berne business man, was fatally injured in a fall from a ladder at a dairy plant here Sept. 16.

He was a member of the First Mennonite Church, where the funeral services were conducted on Saturday by Rev. Gordon Neuenschwander, the pastor.

Mr. Lehman was doing electrical work at the dairy, and was working on a ladder when he fell to the concrete floor below, apparently landing on his head. He was alone at the time, and the cause of the accident is not known.

A native of this community, Mr. Lehman was one of the founders of the Serv-Us Store here, retiring several years ago. Survivors include his wife, five children of whom a son, Richard L., is mayor of Berne, and five sisters.
