MRS. DAISY LEHMAN

Daisy Lee Bute, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Bute, was born May 28, 1878, near Cullom, Illinois. At the age of 17 years she accompanied her parents to Jackson county, Miss.,[sic Minnesota] where she had since made her home.

November 11, 1896, in Jackson, she was united in marriage to David F. Lehman, who with four children, Floyd J. of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Alvin Zehr of Manson, Iowa; Arthur and Dorman of Excelsior, deeply mourn her sudden passing. Mrs. Lehman also leaves 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. G. B. Peterson of Jackson and Mrs. Belle Rintule of Hollywood, California; three brothers, Charles of Alpha, Drew and Tom of Jackson.

While Mrs. Lehman during her busy life devoted most of her time to the welfare of her home, she also found time to serve in the circles of the Mennonite church congregation, being a charter member of the Dorcas Sewing Circle for missions in which she was always a willing worker. Mr. and Mrs. Lehman celebrated their golden wedding anniversary November 11, 1946.

Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Lehman residence in Alpha at 1:30 o'clock, and from the Mennonite church in Wisconsin township at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Noah Landis officiating and Rev. Nicholas Stoltzfus of Manson, Iowa, assisting. Burial amid many beautiful floral offerings was in Riverside cemetery.
