URIAH H. LEATHERMAN

Uriah H. Leatherman, son of Jacob O. and Christina Leatherman, was born Feb. 21, 1890, at River Styx, Ohio. When he was five years old the family moved to McPherson county Kans. where Uriah received his education.

On May 23, 1912 he was united in marriage with Elsie Peoples, of Kinsley, Kans. To this union were born six children.

In 1915 they moved to Harrison, Mich., later living in Gratiot county, Mich., several years. In December 1925 they moved back to the vicinity of his childhood, living in or near Wadsworth until on March 13, 1952, when he peacefully fell asleep at the age of 62 years and 21 days. Death was caused by a cerebral hemmorhage [sic].

Uriah felt the need of a Saviour and was converted and joined the Church of God in Christ (Mennonite) by baptism in 1915. He was enrolled in the Salvation Army as a soldier in 1936, where he remained a faithful member until his death.

He leaves to mourn his passing a sorrowing family, including four sons, Denzil [sic Danzil] of Barberton, Walter of Wadsworth, Oliver of Camp Campbell, Kentucky, Harry at home; two daughters, Mildred Barr of Wadsworth, Katherine Hensal of Akron; twelve grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters; his beloved wife, and a host of relatives and friends.

Burial was made at Woodlawn cemetery, Wadsworth.
