JACOB H. LEATHERMAN

Jacob H. Leatherman, son of Minister Henry O. and Elizabeth Overholt Leatherman was born Feb. 15, 1869, near Wadsworth, Ohio where he passed away to his eternal rest on December 25, 1950, at 11:35 a. m. at age 81 years, 11 months and 10 days, leaving us a lively hope, having been reconciled to his Savour [sic] and upholding the Faith of our Fathers, which gives us the blessed hope of meeting him again.

He was united in marriage to Lucinda Blosser on Oct. 25, 1902 and they shared joys and sorrows for 27 years, which brought many lonely days to him in her departing. To this union were born four daughters and three sons. Preceding him in death were one son LaFollette, father, mother, one brother and five sisters.

He is survived by four daughters and two sons, Lucille of Akron, Ruth and Pauline at home, Fola (Mrs. Gene Noggle) of Wadsworth, Henry of Mansfield, Dale of Wadsworth; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Leatherman, Goshen, Ind., and a host of relatives and friends.

He attended Valparaiso university, Wooster college, Eberly Normal school, and was a graduate of LaSalle Extension university in Public Speaking.

He taught school for 17 years and was school superintendent for four years. Upon retiring from the teaching profession, he spent the rest of his life on his dairy and fruit farm.

Funeral services took place at the Lower Mennonite church on Thursday, Dec. 28, 1950. Minister H. D. Fricke spoke from I Cor. 15:55-58 and Jude 3. Last resting place in church cemetery. — The Children.
