LENA L. LAPP

Lena Lucinda Lapp, 79, died April 13, 1970 at Kalispell, Mont. She was born Oct 1, 1891 in Hartford, Kan. to Daniel and Mary (Steckly) Kauffman. As a young girl she moved with her family to Iowa where she received her schooling.

On Dec. 13, 1911 she was married to Frank B. Lapp. They resided at Roseland, Neb. until 1915 when they moved to Kalispell, Mont., where they engaged in ranching until their retirement. They spent a number of winters at Sunny Slope, Ariz.

Mrs. Lapp was a member of the Mennonite church and always took an active part in the work of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1966, and a son, Willard, in 1941.

Mrs. Lapp is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Oesch of Hesston, Kan., Mrs. Anna Birky of Columbia Falls, Mont. and Mrs. Esther Hogue of Whitefish, Mont., seven sons, John of San Rafael, Calif., Clarence, Edward, Wayne and Jason, all of Kalispell, Mont., George of Columbia Falls, Mont., and Floyd of Molalla, Ore., three sisters, Mrs. George Hoylman and Mrs. Ella Slater of Kalispell and Mrs. Sam Hoylman of Iowa, 44 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, besides a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Kalispell on April 17 with Pastor D. D. Brenneman of the Mennonite church officiating.
