PAUL R. LANDIS

Paul R. Landis, 82, of Milton, Pa., died Sept. 21, 2009. He was born July 31, 1927, to Elvin M. and Sarah (Root) Landis in Leola.

On Sept. 3, 1949, he married Evelyn Wenger.

He farmed in the Limestoneville area for 35 years and also was a farm equipment salesman. Later in life, he worked in maintenance for Turbot Township.

He loved meeting many guests and sharing their faith in the Lord as he and his wife served through Pau-Lyn’s Country Bed-and-Breakfast on Broadway Road in Milton, which they owned and operated for 21 years. He also enjoyed serving with various fire companies over the years and enjoyed photography.

A faithful member of Community Mennonite Fellowship in Milton, he served as a deacon for 33 years. He also served as a song leader and was active in many roles at the church. He enjoyed Bible school and Bible study groups there.

He enjoyed hunting in God’s great creation and singing praises to his maker. He loved being with all his family and invested in their lives and spent much time in prayer for them.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Evelyn; four children, James L. Landis and his wife, Carolyne, of Milton, Jean Sensenig and her husband, John, of Watsontown, Daryl Landis and his wife, Nancy, of Milton, and P. Dennis Landis and his wife, Joan, of New Columbia; two brothers, Robert Landis and his wife, Rhoda, and John Landis and his wife, Gladys, all of Lancaster; and a sister-in-law, Jane Landis, widow of C. Elvin Landis.
