IN MEMORIAM

ELIZABETH B. KULP

Elizabeth B. Kulp was born Sept. 22, 1910, north of Cheraw, Colo. She was the daughter of Isaac B. and Lizzie (Bergey) Kulp. She died Jan. 25, 2001, at LaJunta.

Elizabeth graduated from Hesston (Kan.) Academy in 1929 and from LaJunta Mennonite School of Nursing in 1934. She spent most of her career as a nurse, working the late-night shift at Parkview Hospital in Pueblo. She was active in Pueblo Mennonite church during those years. She also enjoyed her landlady, Mrs. Herrrick, and the neighbors, the Schrock family.

During days off Elizabeth would come home and help her family at Cheraw. When possible, she took part in the activities of East Holbrook Mennonite Church. She loved the Lord, believed strongly in the power of prayer and was always interested in spiritual things. She read a lot and willingly shared all of her books.

Elizabeth retired from nursing at the age of 66 and moved back to the family farm at Cheraw. For the past almost four years she was a resident of the nursing home in LaJunta, spending her last days near the hospital facility where she received her own nurse's training. Elizabeth's life and work has been a great blessing to those who knew her, and her love and laughter will be greatly missed.

Surviving are three nieces, Laverne Vogt Nagziger, Elva Vogt Miller and Myra Vogt Danielson; and a nephew, Virgil Vogt.

The funeral and burial were at East Holbrook Mennonite Church.
