KATHERINE KRUEGER

Funeral services were held on April 6, for Mrs. Katherine Krueger (nee Martens) who passed away on April 1, in the Morden (Man.) Tabor Home for the Aged. Services were held in the Elm Creek (Man.) Church with Rev. J. W. Kroeker and Rev. Henry Enns officiating.

Mrs. Krueger was born February 4, 1881 in southern Russia. She accepted Christ as her Saviour in her youth and became a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church.

In 1915 she was united in marriage to David Krueger, a widower with two daughters. Another daughter and son were born to this union. Her daughter and husband predeceased her in 1919 and 1920 respectively. During the flight from Russia to Germany in 1943, she was separated from her children and their whereabouts are unknown to date.

Mrs. Krueger remained in Germany until 1948 when she joined her brother John Martens and family in Saskatchewan. In 1949 they moved to Elm Creek. She entered the Tabor Home for the Aged in 1953 and remained there till the time of her passing.

She leaves to mourn one brother, Rev. Cornelius Martens, Winnipeg, one sister, Mrs. John (Helen) Neufeld, Russia, one sister-in-law, Mrs. John Martens, Elm Creek, Manitoba, as well as many relatives and friends.
