MRS. CORNELIUS KROEKER

At the age of 83, Sarah Kroeker of Vancouver was called to glory on December 11. She was born on March 12, 1888 in the Memrik settlement, Russia. In January, 1905 she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour. That same year, in June, she was baptized upon her faith and joined the Mennonite Brethren church in Terek, where the family had moved.

She was married to Cornelius Kroeker, a widower, in 1917. In 1925 they emigrated to Canada and took up permanent residence in Alexander, Man. In 1944 they moved to Vancouver.

She became an invalid in 1957, however, even after she became bedridden, she often cheered others through her unique wit and her admonition and prayer. On December 11, 1971, she passed quietly to her eternal reward. Left to mourn her passing are two sons, Cornelius and wife Helena, John and wife Helen; four daughters, Tina, Hulda, Annie and Mary; nine grandchildren and one sister. The funeral was conducted from the Culloden Mennonite Brethren Church on December 14, with D.B. Wiens and Henry Classen ministering.
