MARIE KROEKER

Marie Kroeker was born to John T. and Katherine Hildebrandt Kroeker on Dec. 23, 1919 near Inman, Kan. She departed this life to be in the presence of her Lord on Oct. 27, 1964 at 9:45 a.m. in her home in Inman. She attained the age of 44 years, 10 months and four days.

She accepted Christ as her personal Savior while attending the Zoar Bible Academy through the teaching ministry of professor John Hildebrandt. Marie was truly a born-again Christian giving vital evidence of her faith in her daily walk and life with her Lord. She was baptized and received into the fellowship of the Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church on May 31, 1936.

When only a child of seven years old she became very ill with rheumatic fever. This illness weakened her body, especially her heart. While attending Tabor College she suffered a heart attack from which she never fully recovered. Although being ill much of her life, her trust in God sustained her.

She took an active interest in the Lord's work. After graduating from the Zoar Bible Academy and from the high school department at Tabor College, she taught daily vacation Bible school, Sunday school, and religious education classes in Hutchinson. Since her health would not permit her to continue the teaching ministry she took up sewing and served others in various capacities. She was deeply concerned about the salvation of lost souls and missions.

Similarly before her last hospitalization, she requested of her pastor to be served the Lord's Supper. After a few days in the Bethesda Hospital in Goessel, she returned home. On the following day she passed away quietly and was forever delivered from all pain and suffering.

Preceding her in death were her mother in 1929, her father in 1963, and one brother who died in infancy.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her step-mother, Mrs. Sarah Kroeker; one sister, Lydia and one brother, Aaron, both of the home, and many relatives and friends. — The Family.
