MRS. HELENA B. KROEKER

Helena B. Friesen Kroeker was born July 3,1888, to Klaas B. and Aganetha Barkman Friesen at Jansen, Neb., and went to her heavenly home at 6:30 p. m. on May 11, 1958, at the age of 69 years, 10 months and eight days.

She grew up in a home of three brothers and three sisters. She was baptized by Rev. C. M. Wall upon the confession of faith on Nov. 27, 1906. During her younger years she taught a Sunday school class which she enjoyed very much.

She was married to Henry D. Kroeker on June 27, 1915. Bro. Kroeker had a son by a previous marriage by the name of Klaas. Sister Helena faithfully undertook the duties of this home. The Lord blessed this home with four children — Lena, Bernhard, Kathryn, and Isaac.

She expressed her hope of eternal life. One of her favorite Bible verses was Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and that shall walk and not faint.” Her hope was also well expressed by two songs which she loved, “Jesus is all the World to Me” and “Only a Sinner Saved by Grace.”

She was preceded in death by a brother, Peter, and two sisters, Aganetha and Margaret. She is survived by her husband, Henry O. Kroeker; three brothers, Peter, Nick, and Abraham; one sister, Katharina; a stepson, Klaas; four children, Lena, Bernhard, Kathryn and Isaac; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Bernhard Kroeker and Mrs. Isaac Kroeker; and a grandchild, Rebecca Jean.

Her closing days were days of trial as she suffered from cancer. After much suffering she passed away in Dallas, Texas, where she was undergoing treatments.
