GEORGE KROEKER

George Kroeker of Lethbridge, Alberta was born on September 18, 1895, in Maree, Crimea, South Russia. He was married to Helen Siemens in 1918 and was blessed with four sons and three daughters.

At the age of 26 he was converted and upon his confession baptized and accepted into the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church. When the family came to Canada he and his wife joined the Coaldale (Alta.) Mennonite Brethren Church.

He passed away December 27, 1965 at the Lethbridge Auxiliary Hospital at the age of 70 after a long period of hospitalization. The funeral service December 30 commenced with the words: "I am the resurrection and life, he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." Ministering at the funeral were Rev. D. J. Pankratz and Rev. A. P. Regier. By Mr. Kroeker's personal request the grace of God was exalted at the service.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, two daughters, three daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, 18 grandchildren and many friends. Four brothers and a sister still remain in Russia.
