MRS. AUGUSTA KREWALL

Mrs. Augusta Wedel Krewall, our devoted and saintly mother, was born in Schwinger, Poland, Oct. 20, 1877. She spent her girlhood days, until she was 13 with her parents. Then, because of poverty in the land, she was obliged to work hard for wages, helping to sustain the family. This barred her from obtaining an education.

In 1898 she entered holy matrimony with Edward Krewall. On April 16, 1902, they left Poland and arrived in America on May 27. When they arrived at Weatherford, Okla. their friends greeted them. How thankful the parents were for Divine protection on their long journey.

The goodness of the Lord moved them so that in 1903 mother accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and then joined the Mennonite Brethren Church of Corn, Okla., whose faithful member she remained until her death. She found much joy in the Scriptures. John 19 was one of her most loved chapters which gave her much joy and strength.

The parents established themselves on a farm southwest of Corn. Here many pioneer hardships were encountered but they trusted in the Lord. In 1940 the parents established residence in Corn. Eight years later it pleased the Lord to take father from us. This was a great loss but as mother trusted the Lord the needed grace was bestowed upon her. In 1953 she made her residence in the Home for the Aged in Corn. She greatly enjoyed the fellowship of the Home.

Mother has always been a great inspiration to us in her life. In the loss of her two daughters who preceded her in death, as well as father's passing, she would always say, "Children, we must trust the Lord." These saintly admonitions will always remain with us and direct us to the Lord.

She always enjoyed good health. Only the last year we did realize that her condition was weakening. On March 14 at soon we were called to her bedside. She then uttered these words, "Children, this time I will go." She further said, "I have prayed for all of you, live for the Lord." The next morning, March 15, at 5:00 a. m. it pleased the Lord to suddenly take her to her heavenly reward. She reached the age of 70 years, four months, and 26 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure nine daughters, Mrs. Olga Schmidt of Bessie, Mrs. Augusta Klassen of Weatherford, Mrs. Freda [sic Frieda] Schmidt of Cordell, Mrs. Minnie Flaming of Cloud Chief, Mrs. Gertrude Penner of Corn, Mrs. Della Ratzlaff of Corn, Mrs. Tillie Unger of Inglewood, Calif., Mrs. Martha Reimer of Corn, Mrs. Elsie Penner of Clinton; three sons, Walter, Ed and Harry, all of Cordell; three daughters-in law; nine sons-in-law; 29 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

We mourn but with the full assurance of seeing mother in glory. — The Krewall Children.
