MARTHA GOERING KREHBIEL

Martha Goering Krehbiel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. P. Goering, was born on April 8, 1914 on a farm near Pretty Prairie, Kan.

She received her formal education near her farm home. As a child she attended the Pretty Prairie Mennonite Church, and in 1932 upon her confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ she was baptized by the Rev. J. W. Lorenz and became a member of that church.

On April 9, 1933, she was married to Herman Krehbiel with whom she was able to share life's joys and sorrows for 28 short years. To this union were born one son and two daughters.

In 1935 she became a member of the Bethany Mennonite Church of Kingman, Kan. where she remained a faithful and active member until her death. She lived a full, rich life. Her main concern was her family. She was active in the church.

On May 25 she with her husband and Jo Ann attended the commencement exercises at Kingman. While on their way home she suddenly became ill and was rushed to Kingman Memorial Hospital. Though every possible effort was made to save her life, her heavenly Father had different plans and called her to her eternal resting place on May 26 at 6:30 a. m. at the age of 47 years, one month and 18 days.

She leaves to mourn her early departure her husband Herman, her son Dean and his family, Delores and Kenneth of Kingman; her daughters, Marilyn and her family, Clifford and Sherri of Buhler, and Jo Ann of the home; her beloved mother, Mrs. P. P. Goering of Pretty Prairie; three sisters, Bessie (Mrs. Ben Strausz) of Moundridge, Della (Mrs. Ed Krehbiel) of Newton, Viola (Mrs. Delmar Voran) of Kingman; five brothers, David of Inman, Willard of Hutchinson, Victor of Versailles, Mo., Harry and Harvey of Pretty Prairie; her devoted father-in-law, Joe Krehbiel of Kingman; nine sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law and a host of relatives and friends. Her father and one brother preceded her in death.
