Chris Krehbiel

Chris Krehbiel, son of Christ and Magdalene Dester Krehbiel, was born in Germany, July 4, 1864. The family came to the United States in 1881, and lived in Illinois for two years. eight years were spent in Kansas in the Garden Township district. in 1891 the family came to the state of Washington, settling in Adams county, and here experienced the life of a pioneer.

On June 24, 1904, Mr. Krehbiel was married to Augustina Wolf. This union was blessed with 3 children; one died in infancy. In 1915 the family moved to Lind and has lived here ever since.

During the early part of the summet [sic] the deceased ailed somewhat, but did not consider it serious. This fall he was taken to Spokane, and upon examination it was discovered that a cancer had made deep inroads into his system. Monday morning, Nov. 23, he quietly passed away, attaining an age of 72 years, 4 months, 19 days. He leaves to mourn his passing, his widow, 2 sons, one brother, and 2 sisters, and a host of otehr [sic] relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church in Lind and interment made in the Lind cemetery. Rev. J. J. Galle of Odessa officiated.
