ANNA STUCKY KREHBIEL

Anna Stucky, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Ries Stucky, was born on Aug. 2, 1870, at Kotosufka, Russia, where she lived until she was three years old. She came to America with her parents in 1874. They settled in South Dakota where her father passed away in the first months, and because of financial circumstances she came to Moundridge, Kan. to work. She was baptized on the confession of her faith by Elder Jacob Stucky and shortly after became a member of the Eden Mennonite church where she remained a faithful member until her death.

She was united in marriage to Jacob A. Krehbiel on Feb. 14, 1888. They were permitted to share life's joys and sorrows for over 52 years. This home was blessed with ten children, of whom five preceded her in death. On April of 1940 father was called home. Shortly after his passing it was mother's wish to make her home with her daughter for 14 years. The last six years of her life she made her home with all of her children except for the last few months which she spent in the Mercy hospital, Moundridge, Kan.

Although a person of few words one could always experience the presence of God around her. Her greatest concern never was for the things of this world, but the things of that Heavenly Home, that Christ has prepared for His own. Mother's wish to be with the Lord was granted on Friday, Aug. 26.

She reached the age of 90 years and 24 days. Surviving members of her family include her daughter, Mrs. David R. Stucky; her four sons, Gus E., Felix J., Gideon J., and Menno M. Krehbiel; one son-in-law and five daughters-in-law; 30 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends. — The Family.
