MRS. ANNA KREHBIEL

Mrs. Anna Krehbiel, long-time member of the First Mennonite Church of Upland, Calif., passed away in a nursing home in nearby Claremont Dec. 9, 1955, at the age of 79 years.

She had been in declining health for several years. After suffering a cerebral hemorrhage in early fall she was moved from her home here to the Claremont Nursing Home.

A native of Bavaria, Germany, she came to the United States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Lichti, at the age of 11 years. She grew to womanhood in Kansas and was married to Christian Krehbiel at Moundridge, Kan. They moved to Geary, Okla. where they lived on their farm northwest of town. It was there that her two sons were born and also where her husband died in 1900.

In 1925 she moved to Upland, Calif. where she resided most of the time with the exception of short intervals spent with her elder son Val and family in Oklahoma.

Her quiet and sweet disposition endeared her to all who knew her, and her faith in God was manifested in times of sorrow and trial.

Mourning her loss are her two sons, Val of Hydro, Okla., and Chris of Upland, their wives and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted in the First church with her pastor, Paul Goering, officiating. Interment followed at the Bellevue cemetery at Ontario. The many beautiful floral offerings spoke of the love and esteem in which she was held.
