SERIOUS ACCIDENTS IN MENNONITE COMMUNITY AT WINKLER, MANITOBA

Winkler, Man. — This community was deeply shocked when the news spread that Jacob Krahn, 52, has suffered fatal head injuries as result of being struck by a falling tree at the farm of his brother, a short distance south of town. He died in a local hospital a few hours after the accident.

In the Schanzenfeld neighborhood Aaron Enns suffered severe burns when a brooder house was destroyed by fire at his home on April 23. The fire is thought to have started from the explosion of gasoline in the brooder stove.

Mr. Enns was in critical condition when taken to the Winkler hospital.
