Mrs. J. B. Koehn

Mrs. J. B. Koehn, nee Susie Nightingale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Nightingale was born August 16, 1865, in Russia (Now Poland). She came to this country with her Parents in 1874 settling in McPherson County Kansas near Moundridge in Lone Tree township. She was converted and upon confession of her faith was baptized and received into the Canton Mennonite church. She was united in marriage to J. B. Koehn December 11, 1887. To this union four sons and seven daughters were born, who are all living at present. Her husband passed away July 12, 1910, having lived together 22 years and 7 months. She was Grandmother of 13 children, of whom two have preceded her to the beyond.

In her last sickness she suffered severely and on June 19 at 11:10 A.M. the hour of her release came. She reached the age of 64 years, 10 months and 3 days. She is survived by all her crildren [sic], 11 grandchildren and 8 sisters. All children were present except two, Alfa Koehn of Bakersfield, California, and Miss Susan Koehn of Elpaso, Texas.

While we mourn her departure, yet we rejoice that she has gone home whither we hope to follow and meet her again.
