text of obituary:

RICHARD KOEHN

Richard Koehn, son of Herman and Mary Koehn, was born Nov. 10, 1936, in Enid, Okla.; departed this life on Jan. 27, 1955, at the age of 18 years, two months and 17 days.

He lived in Enid all his life, attended Sunday school and church services, and the public schools, this being his senior year.

Richard was a quiet and trustworthy boy who spent most his leisure time at home tinkering with his hobbies, wood working and machanics [sic].

Richard became ill Jan. 19, 1955, while attending school. He checked out of school and came home complaining of a stomach ache. He gradually became worse so he was taken to the hospital Jan. 26. He was operated for a ruptured appendix, and passed away the next day at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon.

He leaves to mourn his early departure his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Koehn, one brother Arnold, serving with the U. S. Army in Germany; one sister, Mrs. Ira Sterling, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; the maternal grandfather, Jacob Brown of Dinuba, Calif. One brother preceded him in death.

We as a family take great comfort in the words of the Apostle Paul recorded in I Thes. 4: 13, 14, “But I would not have you to be ignorant brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even them also which sleep in Jesus will God bright with Him.”

The fueral [sic] was held at Grace Mennonite church, Enid, Jan. 30, at 2:00 P. M. with Rev. Albert Unruh in charge.
