text of obituary:

HENRY P. KOEHN

Henry P. Koehn, son of Pete and Elizabeth Koehn, was born in Poland on Aug. 15, 1868, and departed from this life on Dec. 22,1957, reaching the age of 89 years, four months and seven days.

He with his parents emigrated to America in 1874, settling in McPherson county, Kan. Here he grew to manhood. In 1891 he was united in marriage to Lena Wedel, with whom he shared the joys and sorrows of life for over 66 years.

In 1908 he with his family moved to the Greensburg, Kan. community, making this their home until 1954 when the parents entered Bethel rest home at Montezuma, Kan. Here he passed to his eternal rest.

This union was blessed with 12 children, of whom two died in infancy. He loved his family dearly and did much for them to make them happy.

In 1929 he found the Lord as his personal Saviour, and upon confession of faith was baptized and united with the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, to which he remained true until death. He was a zealous church attendant, and always tried to be there on time.

He leaves to mourn his departure his dearly beloved companion, five sons, Fred, Glen, and Virgil, all of Greensburg, Amel of Galva, and Edd of Winton, Calif., five daughters, Mrs. Nettie Smith of Cimarron, Mrs. Katie Schmidt of Greensburg, Mrs. Maggie Koehn of Durham, Mrs. Gladys Schneider of Moundridge, and Mrs. Sophie Unruh of Pawnee Rock; three brothers, John of Ordway, Colo., Andrew of Okeene, Okla. and Cornelius of Moundridge; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Wedel of Greensburg, and Mrs. Carrie Jantz of Moundridge; 44 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

We mourn, but not without hope. We believe father has gone to be at rest with the Lord. — Wife and Children.
