CHESTER EDWARD KOEHN

Chester Edward Koehn, son of Ed and Bena Koehn, was born near Greensburg, Kans. on Jan. 29, 1927. He departed this life at St. Anthony hospital in Dodge City on July 31, 1944 , at the age of 17 years, 6 months and 2 days.

He accepted Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of 12, when he united with the Bethel Mennonite church and remained a faithful member until his death. At the age of five years he became ill with diabetes, suffering much for the past 12 years, and intensely for the last four weeks of his life. In his suffering he was especially patient and enjoyed and appreciated what his loved ones did for him.

His brother, Marvin Duane, preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother and father, a brother Eugene, his sister Lylith; grandparents, uncles, aunts, other relatives and many friends.

Chester left us the assurance that he was going to his heavenly home, so we commint [sic] him to God and say with Job: "The Lord hath given, the Lord has taken. Blessed be the name of the Lord."

Funeral services were held Aug. 3, 1944, at the home. Then the body was taken to the Bethel Mennonite church where Min. Harvey Yost had charge of the service.

Burial was made in the Greensburg cemetery.
