THREE DEATHS AT MT. LAKE

P. J. Kliewer, Jacob Voth, and Dietrich Peters die in one Week

Sorrow has entered three homes of this community since our last issue was published. Mr. Peter J. Kliewer succumbed to his illness on Friday night.

Mr. Kliewer’s condition has been rapidly growing serious and death came as a welcome guest to relieve suffering.

He took sick of tuberculosis of the throat and on Jan. 25 he left for Worthington to be treated at the sanitarium, but human help could do nothing for him and he was taken home to his farm April 10, where he spent his last week. He died Friday at 11 o’clock p.m. at an age of 43 years. Funeral was conducted at the Bethel church, Tuesday. The Revs. H. H. Quiring, J. C. Peters and H. H. Regier officiated.

Jacob Voth who took sick not long ago, contracted pneumonia and having a weak heart he passed away at 2 o’clock Saturday morning, at his home. He reached the age of 65 years. Funeral services were held yesterday at the First Mennonite church. His eight children were all present.

Dietrich Peters who has been failing in health for a long time, died on Sunday morning on the farm of his son G. D. Peters where he spent the last 20 months of his life. At 2 a.m. on Sunday he was still alive and a few hours later it was noticed that he was dead.
