Peter G. Kliewer, son of Rev. Gerhard and Eve Fleming Kliewer, was born Oct. 15, 1876, near Inman, Kansas, and departed this earthly life on April 24, 1959, at Hobart, Okla., attaining the age of 82 years, six months and nine days.

He was baptized upon confession of faith by Elder Gaeddert and became a member of the Hoffnungsau Church near Inman, Kansas, in 1895.

In 1900 he located on a farm near Mt. View, Okla. He became a member of the Friedentahl [sic Friedensthal] Mennonite Church, later transferring his membership to the Ebenezer Mennonite Church of Gotebo, where he remained a faithful member until death, serving as S. S. teacher, supt., choir director and deacon.

On Aug. 17, 1905, he was united in holy matrimony with Justice Reimer, who went to her eternal reward on Sept. 17, 1934.

This union was blessed with nine children, four boys and five girls of which two sons, Menno and Paul, preceded them into eternity, leaving Elmer A. of Audubon, Iowa; Selma, Mrs. Dan Daubert of Gotebo, Okla.; Hilda, Mrs. Mose Stucky of Anthony, Kansas; Margaret, Mrs. Earl Frank of Norman, Okla.; Mrs. Helen Theleman of San Bernardino, Calif.; Johnnie, Mrs. Earl Bartel of Kingsburg, Calif.; and a host of friends.

He also leaves nine grandsons, five granddaughters, four sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law, four brothers, one sister, 10 sisters-in-law, and a host of friends.

The family is saddened by the passing of their beloved father from this earthly life, but are comforted by God's promise of eternal life and the fulfillment of their father's desire to go to his Heavenly Home.
