Mrs. Peter Kliewer

Mt. Lake, Minn., May 9 — Funeral services for Mrs. Peter Kliewer, who succumbed Saturday in the state hospital in St. Peter, were conducted Tuesday from the Bethel church. Rev. D. P. Eitzen spoke briefly at the introduction, and Rev. J. J. Balzer preached the funeral sermon. Short services had been conducted at Janzen's Funeral Parlors before the church services.

The deceased was born on May 30 1851 in the village of Rudnerweide, South Russia. She spent the days of her youth here, and was married to Peter Kliewer at the age of 21. In 1878 the family emigrated to America, and settled on a farm southeast of Mountain Lake. After the birth of her son Henry, her health was impaired and her spirit injured so that she was taken to the state hospital in St. Peter. Her condition seemed improved so she was taken home once more, but more complications made it necessary for her to return to the state hospital, where she remained until her death. The period of her illness stretches over a period of 43 years.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, 4 sons, 4 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, 4 daughters-in-law, 19 grandchildren, 1 brother and a large circle of friends. She reached the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 4 days. — Mt. Lake Observer.
