FRANK J. KLIEWER

Frank J. Kliewer, son of Gerhard G. and Elizabeth Janzen Kliewer, passed away July 17, 1961 at the Trinity Hospital at Wolf Point, Mont. He reached the age of 77 years, four months and 20 days. He was born March 27, 1884 at Inman, Kan.

On Sept. 22, 1908 he was united in marriage to Katherine Dalke. To this union were born three sons and six daughters. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1946 and by a grandson in 1953.

He was baptized on his confession of faith and joined the Mennonite church.

He and his family moved to Newport, Wash. in the fall of 1926, where he was active in the Spring Valley Mennonite Church for many years. He served as Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, and choir director. He was one of the charter members of the church and did much to promote its growth and welfare.

He was a retired farmer and mill worker.

His health had gradually failed for the last few years and he had been in and out of the hospital much of the time. He had gone to visit his brother C. J. Kliewer at Wolf Point and contracted pneumonia on the trip, which was made by train. This illness proved too much for his weakened condition.

He leaves to mourn his death three sons, Gordon of Quincy, Wash., John Wallace of Fresno, Calif. and Kenneth of Los Angeles, Calif.; six daughters, Mrs. Lars (Elda) Kanikeberg, Mrs. Ernest (Margaret) Black, Mrs. Robert (Norma) Rednour, and Mrs. Theodore (Doris) Schwab, all of Newport, Mrs. Frank (Loris) Harms of American Falls, Idaho, and Mrs. Robert (Helen) Beaubier of McCall, Idaho; three brothers, Cornelius of Wolf Point, David of Clinton, Okla. and Ben of Dallas, Oregon.

Funeral services were held at the Spring Valley Mennonite Church, Newport, Wash.
