text of obituary:

MRS. JOHN A. KLIEWER

Agatha Ratzloff [sic Ratzlaff] Kliewer, daughter of Bernhard and Maria (Hiebert) Ratzloff [sic Ratzlaff], was born March 3, 1896 on a farm two miles south of Bradshaw in York County, Nebraska. Here she spent the early years of her life and grew to womanhood.

She received Christ as her Saviour and was baptized on June 12, 1916 by Elder H. H. Epp, and was received into the Bethesda Mennonite Church where she remained a faithful member until her death.

She was married to John A. Kliewer on April 3, 1919 on the farm where she was born. They lived together for nearly 50 years. They had many years together with their children and later their grandchildren. Mother is the first one to break our family circle.

In 1962 she was stricken with arthritis and was never without pain after that. About two years ago she became almost blind because of cataracts. Last June she underwent eye surgery but this caused only additional suffering.

She bore her suffering patiently, but we often heard her pray, "Lord Jesus relieve my suffering and heal my sick body." When asked if she was ready to go she always said a clear "yes." She spent a total of 118 days in the hospital during the last year. Her suffering was very intense toward the last. She passed away in the early morning on Jan. 7, 1969.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband; four sons and their wives, Henry and Augusta Kliewer of Dallas, Ore., Benjamin and Olga Kliewer of Henderson, John and Matilda Kliewer of Sutton, Neb., and Albert and Rachel Kliewer of Lushton, Neb., one daughter and her husband, Alma and Louie Siebert of Henderson; 18 grandchildren; four sisters, Aganetha, Mrs. Cor. Beier, Marie, Mrs. H. H. Friesen, Justina, Mrs. J. A. Peters, and Tena, Mrs. G. H. Rempel; two brothers, John and David; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

Preceding her in death were five sisters, five brothers and four brothers-in-law. She reached the age of 72 years, 10 months and four days. We do not sorrow without hope, for we have a blessed hope and promise in the word of Jesus in John 14. — The Bereaved Family.
