RANDALL SCOTT KLASSEN

Randall Scott Klassen was born to Robert and Beverly Klassen on August 29, 1959, at Mercy hospital in Sacramento, Calif.

At the age of three and one-half weeks he developed virus pneumonia and at this time we were told that our son had a congenital heart defect. After two days in the hospital we brought him home with the hope that future surgery would correct his condition.

While at home we were blessed again and again by his sweet disposition, friendly smile, and mental alertness. On Nov. 21 we took him to see his grandparents. On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, we left for home. On the way home we noticed that he was breathing heavily. Upon our arrival in Sacramento we immediately took him to Mercy Children's hospital where he was put in an oxygen tent. We were told that he was in severe heart failure. After tests and thorough examination, it was found that in addition to his known condition, there were other defects of the heart.

A few hours before his death, we spent a few memorable moments with Randy. He was happy and gave us smiles never to be forgotten. At 2 a.m. Dec. 3, 1959, he slipped into a final heart failure and went to be with his Maker.

He lived three months and four days. He leaves to mourn his departure his parents, Robert and Beverly Klassen; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Isaak; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Klassen; his great-grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Friesen, and numerous relatives and friends.

The funeral service was held Dec. 5, at 9 a.m. at the Cairns Funeral Home, Reedley, Calif., with Rev. Dan Friesen, pastor of the Mennonite Brethren church officiating. — The Parents.
