DEATH CLAIMS PIONEER FARMER OF SOUTHERN MANITOBA AT AGE 82
Altona, Manitoba. —- Funeral services for Martin Klassen, 82 year old retired farmer of Altona, were held in the Sommerfelder church here on April 15. He died at his home after a week’s illness.
Born in South Russia in 1869, he came to Canada with his parents in 1876 and they settled In the Schoensee district near Steinbach. Later they moved to Kleinstadt and he married Katherine Wiebe, who survives him. He farmed there until 1933.
