MRS. KATHERINE KLASSEN

(Mrs.) Katherine Klassen was born on February 12, 1901 at Plum Coulee, Man., to Anton and Katherine Heppner. She married John A. W. Klassen on November 5, 1918, and they lived together happily for over 59 years. The Klassens were blessed with seven children. Mrs. Klassen was saved at the age of 29 years, under the preaching of Rev. John Hooge. She was then baptized and received as a member of the Grossweide (later Horndean) Mennonite Brethren Church, where she worshipped and faithfully followed the Lord.

In October of 1977 she was admitted to the Winkler (Man.) Bethel Hospital with a slight stroke. A short period of recovery followed, but she became ill after Christmas and was re-admitted. She had a great desire to attend her first great granddaughter's wedding, which the Lord granted her. After returning to the hospital she lapsed into a coma and the Lord took her peacefully home to be with himself on January 2. The family remembers their mother and grandmother as one who was greatly concerned that her Christian testimony would be recognized by everybody. The church and family lost a great prayer warrior with her passing.

Mrs. Klassen was predeceased by two daughters, one son and one great-grandchild. She leaves to mourn her beloved husband, John; two sons and two daughters and their spouses, John and Marjory Klassen, Harry and Betty Klassen, Tena and Henry Neufeld, Anne and Martin Dueck; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters and numerous relatives and friends.
