HERBERT KLASSEN

Herbert Klassen, son of Abraham and Marie (Dyck) Klassen, was born March 20, 1908 at rural Moundridge, Kan. and ended this earthly life May 23, 1962 at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton, Kan. He reached the age of 54 years, two months and three days. His parents and two sisters, Martha and Bertha, preceded him in death.

He was baptized June 6, 1927 by Elder P. H. Richert and received into the fellowship of theTabor Mennonite Church, of which he remained a faithful member until his death. On Oct. 29, 1936 he was united in marriage to Esther Schmidt. To this union three children, Harlan, Delores and Richard were born.

Many happy memories will linger with us as we bid our father and husband farewell. Most valuable and comforting is the fact that we have the assurance that he loved the Lord and was looking forward to meeting his Saviour face to face. This meeting perhaps came a little sooner than he or we expected but we rejoice with him even if our hearts are bleeding and we feel the pang of loneliness. We are happy that we may look forward to meeting him some day and until then we want to try to serve our Lord and Saviour as best we know how.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife Esther and three children Harlan, Delores and Richard; his second mother, Mrs. Abraham Klassen; one brother Albert; four sisters, Mrs. Arnold (Agnes) Goertzen, Mrs. Ben (Margaret) Unruh, Mrs. Jake (Edna) Nachtigal and Mrs. H. B. (Esther) Schmidt; three step sisters, Mrs. John (Ruth) Moyer, Mrs. Adam (Helen) Mueller, Mrs. William (Sara) Penner; his father-in-law C. J. Schmidt; five sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law and their families plus a host of other relatives and friends. — Mrs. Herbert Klassen and children.
