EDWARD KLASSEN

The Port Rowan, Ontario community was shocked to learn of the sudden death of Edward W. Klassen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Klassen, on June 3. The car in which he was the only passenger went out of control.

The funeral took place on June 6, in the Port Rowan MB Church. Ralph Teigrob read Ps. 34:19 and 90:12 for the invocation. Dr. F. C. Peters, of Kitchener based his English message on Deut. 29:29, "The Secret is God's, but Reality is Ours." Rev. A. Block Sr. read in German Ps. 90:1-4; 12 using the topic "The Glorified Transition out of this Life." Two selections in song were rendered by Mr. and Mrs. A. Suderman Jr., "No Night There" and "We'll Soon Be Home."

He was the seventh son of Mr. and Mrs. Klassen, born on July 10, 1942. He was born in Port Rowan, where he resided with his parents until the time of his death.

Edward received his education at Erie View Public School, Eden Christian College and Winkler Bible School. At the age of 13 he realized his need of a Saviour and accepted the gift of salvation, provided in Jesus Christ.

At the age of 19 he was baptized on confession of faith and accepted into the Port Rowan MB Church. At the time of his death he was happy in the Lord and the family takes comfort in this fact.

He leaves to mourn his parents, seven brothers and four sisters. Brothers are Jacob and wife Anne, Henry and wife Helen, Peter and wife Sadie, all of Port Rowan; Nick and wife Annie of Kitchener, John and wife Alita of Blind River, Walter and Tom at home. Sisters are Mrs. Abe Petkau, Mrs. Abe Toews. Helen and Martha of Port Rowan, and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by a brother, Herman, who died on June 19, 1957 at the age of 23.
