ABRAM J. KLASSEN

Abram J. Klassen died Apr. 9. He was born Nov. 8, 1917 in Russia to Jacob and Agatha Klassen. The family immigrated to Canada in 1923, living in Brotherfield, Sask., then in Glenbush, Sask. He married Gladys Anne Harms July 4, 1943. He pastored Glenbush MB Church, was school trustee and was involved with the Gideons. After a farming accident, they moved to Saskatoon where he attended university. He taught in Leipzig and Cut Knife, Sask . In North Battleford, Sask., he managed the Canada Farm Labour Pool, retiring in 1986. He was a skilled carpenter and gardener, loved books, poetry, music and art, and after retirement enjoyed cooking, needlework and crafts. He loved his children and grandchildren. He always had time to talk, listen and share stories. Predeceased by 2 sisters and 1 brother, he is mourned by Gladys; daughters Bertha Klassen, Pearl Block, Ruby Klassen-Frison, Carol Klassen, Darlene Klassen; son Tim; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; 1 brother. The funeral was Apr. 14 in Waldheim (Sask.) MB Church with David Bergen and Clarence Peters ministering.
