MRS. JACOB R. KLAASSEN

Mrs. Jacob R. Klaassen, the daughter of Heinrich E. and Katherine Wiebe Block, was born on Nov. 30, 1884, near Hillsboro, Kan., where she grew up and received her elementary education in the Gnadenau School.

She accepted Christ as her personal Saviour, and was baptized on April 6, 1902 by Elder Heinrich Wiebe, and received into the fellowship of the Gnadenau Church.

On April 11, 1907, she was married to Jacob R. Klaassen, and together they shared joys and sorrows and blessings of the Lord for 33 years, until sudden death took our father in 1940.

Mother enjoyed fairly good health until June 1958, when she suffered a heart attack, after which she never fully recovered. As long as her health permitted she enjoyed the fellowship of the church services, and also took active part in the missionary circle and work of the church. Her testimony of the relationship that was hers in the Lord brought us joy and comfort.

After being in the hospital for 17 days in December we had the joy of taking her home for two weeks and celebrating Christmas together. Her health was however failing, which made it necessary for us to return her to the hospital where she fell peacefully asleep in the Lord on Sunday morning, Jan. 6. We know that she is now with the Lord whom she loved and served. She reached the age of 78 tears, one month and six days.

Surviving are two daughters, Justina and Esther; one son Ted and his wife Rubena and children, all of Hillsboro; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. William J. Prieb and John D. Block, both of Hillsboro, P. W. Block, El Paso, Texas, and Mrs. Herbert F. Hodel, Peabody, Kan., and other relatives and friends.

We look forward to the day when we shall be reunited in glory with her and our father to spend eternity with them in the presence of our wonderful Lord. — The Family.
