Three Fatal Farm Accidents

Conewango Valley, N. Y. — A largely attended funeral took place in the Amish settlement here Sept. 16 as services were held for Pre. Samuel S. Troyer, 55, who was killed in a fall from a silo on Saturday, Sept. 14. He fell about 18 feet, and died almost immediately.

Survivors include his wife, Susann, and seven children ranging in age from 14 to 21.

Morris, Man. — Funeral services for 13-year-old Wesley Zacharias, who died under an overturned tractor, were held Sept. 3 at the Evangelical Mennonite Church in Rosenort.

The youth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Zacharias, was killed when the tractor he was driving overturned in a ditch and pinned him underneath. Death was due to suffocation. His nine-year-old brother Lloyd, who was with him, escaped with bruises.

Paradise, Pa. — Joseph B. King, Jr. 11-year-old Amish youth, son of Pre. and Mrs. Joseph B. King of Route 4, Lancaster, was fatally injured when thrown from a farm wagon.

The youth was driving a team of mules about dusk when they ran into an electric fence. The frightened team ran across a field and Joseph was thrown off when the wagon hit a wash-out.
