New Year's Accident Takes Life of Six Months Old Child

PARENTS BUSY WITH MORNING CHORES WHEN CHILD BURNS TO DEATH

Lancaster, Pa. — Friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron King were shocked when the news spread on the morning of New Year's day that Johnnie S., their six months old son, had been burned to death while the parents were busy outside doing the chores.

The Lad, who had been left in a high chair in the kitchen, had pulled the lamp down upon himself from the table. The lifeless body of the child was badly charred when the mother returned to the house. The cries of the grief-stricken mother brought others to the scene and the fire was extinguished before much damage was done to the home.

Ministers Amos M. Fisher and Daniel M. Stoltzfus were in charge of the funeral, which was held the following day.
